Thesis Advisor and Faculty Advisory Committee
Thesis Advisor
By May 15 at the end of the first year, students should submit a prioritized list of three preferred thesis advisors to the Program Director. The Director will then assign students to faculty members. Usually, students receive their first choice.
Faculty Advisory Committee
At the start of the third semester, the Program Director forms a faculty advisory committee for each student comprised of three faculty members and the student's thesis advisor.
The committee will examine the student's coursework and research before the end of the third semester. The committee then recommends to the Program Director whether the student should continue in the Program.
